Mcpherrin Ave. Monterey Park Link: http://www.ci.monterey-park.ca.us Event DescriptionThe Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is hosting free vaccinations for the H1N1 Virus (otherwise known as the Swine Flu) to persons who have no health insurance. Interested individuals must also be considered higher risk for medical problems throughout the Los Angeles County area in the coming months. Persons identified as higher risk are considered to be: Pregnant women; People who live with or care for babies less than 6 months old; Children and young adults 6 months to 24 years old; People 25 to 64 years old that have a chronic medical problem such as asthma; Healthcare and emergency medical workers with direct patient contact To ease traffic congestion and accommodate parking needs, portions of the following streets will be made “one-way”, timed parking, or closed to vehicular traffic: * One Way Traffic – McPherrin and Ramona Avenues south of Newmark and Harding Avenue. Some areas may be posted for “Timed Parking” only, such as one hour parking. * Closed to Vehicle Traffic - Park Avenue and Newmark Avenue (between McPherrin and Ramona) * “No Parking” on the south side of Garvey Avenue between Atlantic Boulevard and Ramona Avenue We are asking residents to park their vehicle on their driveway or legally on another street. Access to the closed off streets will be provided to residents showing proper identification. We thank you in advance for your assistance and cooperation during this event. Specific questions regarding H1N1 or seasonal flu vaccinations, please call Los Angeles County Department of Public Health at 2-1-1. Seasonal flu vaccinations will be available for people ineligible for the H1N1 Vaccination. Persons wishing to receive the vaccination may arrive anytime between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Enter from Garvey and Ramona Avenue. It is advised people carpool with other interested individuals or take the Spirit Bus as parking availability is very limited. Los Angeles County expects a large volume of people arriving to receive the free shots. |
