Spoofing Crihanna

It was the alleged post-Grammy smackdown that has turned the worlds of former R&B heartthrob Chris Brown and girlfriend Robyn Rihanna Fenty upside down.

The fallout for Brown has been anything but pretty: almost universal condemnation, a brief criminal court appearance, banishment from the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards and the loss of a $1 million Wrigley’s Spearmint Gum contract.

But this is showbusiness and one man’s (or woman’s) misfortune can be anyone’s viral opportunity — in this case L.A. based actors David Claxton and Crystal Lee in one of the many Crihanna skits on YouTube.

Both were tapped for the gig — which they did for acting credit — by Ginger Kid Productions from an online casting Web site.

Claxton, 37, is a Pennsylvanian born model-actor who moved here by way of Miami and 29-year-old Lee, is a native of Philadelphia and who majored in theater at Temple University.

Claxton declared the situation fair game and Lee said it was a lighthearted take-off.

“No, I didn’t really feel that sorry for Chris,” said Claxton. “Everybody spoofs everything these days and he shouldn’t have done something so stupid.”

Lee replied: “I certainly don’t condone what happened to her. This a spoof, based on fun and gum.”

The video spoofs Brown’s Wrigley’s commercial; the couple share a packet of Doublemint gum strolling by a pond; on a tennis court; sitting on a bench at the beach and then in a car where they both eye the last piece on the dashboard.

Of course, Lee grabs it first and chews in Claxton’s face prompting a right hand and a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it punchline.
