With five nods, Jay-Z leads the list of nominees heading into Sunday's presentation of the 2010 BET Awards at the Shrine Auditorium, while Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Trey Songz and Melanie Fiona each have four.
Jay-Z is up for best male hip-hop artist, collaboration, viewer's choice
and two video of the year nods for "Empire State of Mind'' and "Run this Town.''
He will compete for best male hip-hop artist with B.O.B., Drake,
Fabolous and Ludacris.
Beyonce, Keys and Fiona are all nominated for best female R&B artist, along with Mary J. Blige and Rihanna. Rihanna's notorious ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown, is nominated for best male R&B artist, as are Trey Songz, Raheem DeVaughn, Maxwell and Trina.
Nominated for best female hip-hop artist are Ester Dean, Lil Kim, Nicki Minaj, Rasheeda and Trina.
Queen Latifah will host the star-studded ceremony, which will feature
performances by Drake, Nicki Minaj, Trey Songz, Kanye West, T-Pain and Diddy-Dirty Money. Prince is expected to receive a lifetime achievement award during the festivities, while John Legend will receive the 2010 Humanitarian Award.
