Local school districts again showed overall improvement in state Academic Performance Index scores this year, according to results from the state Department of Education.

The API results, released last week, are based on a number of tests taken by public school students last spring. API scores are compiled by combining student test scores to determine the average for a school and for its district. Results for individual students are not listed.
