BELLFLOWER — The Bellflower Noon Lions Club will present the 12th annual Bellflower Boulevard Car Show, from 4 to 9 p.m. Sept. 11 on Bellflower Boulevard between Park Street and Flora Vista Street.

It is the second year in a row that the service club has sponsored the event, taking over from the city, which had to cancel last year’s because of budget restraints.

Food and craft vendors, live music and a display of dozens of classic and antique cars are planned, said Event Chairman Larry Wehage.

Cost to register a vehicle for display is $25 per vehicle, plus another $10 to reserve a specific location on Bellflower Boulevard, Wehage said

On the day of the show, registration is $40 and no reserved spots will be given out.

All vehicles must be in place by 3 p.m. Entry to the boulevard is via Pacific Avenue from Alondra Boulevard.

Vendors may lease a 10-by-10-foot booth for $50.

Admission to the event for spectators is free.

Awards to vehicle owners will be presented at 7 p.m. Winners in various categories will receive dashboard plaques and each entrant will receive a gift bag including an American Flag and a copy of the United States Constitution.

The event will have a patriot theme because it will take place on the date of the Twin Tower terrorist attack, he noted.

At 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. there will be a “Cacale Fest” in which vehicles with large engines will be asked to start them one by one, Wehage said.

Checks may be mailed to the Bellflower Noon Lions Club, P.O. Box 366, Bellflower, 90707.

Information: Wehage, at (562) 331-9265.
