LYNWOOD — Incumbent City Councilman Ramon Rodriguez is two votes ahead of former City Treasurer Iris Pygatt as the county Registrar-Recorder’s Office continues its canvass of the Nov. 3 municipal election.

On election night, Rodriguez had a lead of 18 votes over Pygatt but as election officials continued counting provisional and late absentee ballots, Pygatt surpassed Rodriguez by three votes Nov. 10, 809-806.

This Tuesday’s update showed Rodriguez back in front, with 812 votes to Pygatt’s 810.

Mayor Maria Santillan continues to lead the vote count with 1,146 votes, followed by City Councilman Jim Morton with 1,099.

The Registrar-Recorder’s Office will update the numbers again on Friday and is anticipating finishing with all of its post-election canvassing Monday.

After the canvas is completed, the county Board of Supervisors is expected to certify the election’s results during its meeting Tuesday.

I'll bet they had to go out to the cow fields to find those 2 votes for Rodriguez. What a joke this elections is.
