COMMERCE — Members of the Chamber of Commerce and City Council officially opened the 126,000-square-foot Costco Business Center, 6333 Telegraph Road, with a ribbon cutting July 23.

As part of the membership club, the Costco Business Center requires a valid Costco membership to enter and shop their facilities or receive delivery, said Eddie Tafoya, executive director of the Commerce Industrial Council Chamber of Commerce.

Costco Business Centers offer an expanded selection of business products with convenient shopping options, including next-business-day delivery, Tafoya said.

The new business center will be open earlier to offer an expanded selection of products in key categories, including food service, tobacco, candy, beverages and office supplies.

Among the store’s amenities are a food court and a four-bay gasoline station.
“We’re happy to welcome the new Costco Business Center to the city of Commerce and as a proud new member of our chamber,” Tafoya said.

He noted that 120 new jobs were created at the store, of which 19 were filled by Commerce residents.

According to city staff, the new Costco is expected to generate more than half a million dollars a year in sales tax revenue that will provide the city with funds for resident programs and business services.
