In the wake of the all-things-are-possible halcyon glow that followed Barack Obama’s presidential victory, Jamie Foxx cheekily lobbied to be cast as the next James Bond. But the cool aplomb of the super-spy’s image is a world away from the Academy Award-winning actor’s latest role: as real-life homeless musical virtuoso Nathaniel Anthony Ayers in “The Soloist,” a fact-based film based on a book written by Los Angeles Times columnist Steve Lopez.
