W Hotel opens amid fanfare

A new hotel opened in Hollywood on Friday morning amid much fanfare. Late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel served as emcee at the ceremony marking the opening of the 350-million-dollar -W- Hollywood Hotel and Residences at Hollywood and Vine. Several local officials attended the ceremony, including Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, City Council President Eric Garcetti and Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky. The project created 16-hundred construction jobs and 250 permanent jobs.
