The biggest Saint Patrick's Day event in Los Angeles was held Wednesday at L.A. Live.

The four-hour festival included beer gardens, food from 14 restaurants and various performances, including by a marching band, a band of bagpipers and a concert by an Irish rock group.

The biggest Saint Patrick's Day event in Los Angeles used to be the annual parade downtown, but it was scrapped this year because city officials felt it would be inappropriate to spend funds on traffic control in light of the city's budget problems.
