Fremont tops Dorsey

Michael Sullivan had 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead Fremont High School past Dorsey, 71-64 Wednesday in a Coliseum League boys basketball game.

Sullivan was one of three players to score in double figures for the Pathfinders, who improved to 12-4 overall and 3-0 in league. Dorsey fell to 7-8 and 2-1.

Kaylen Ayers had 18 points and nine rebounds and Savion Udeh added 12 points for the winners. Tim Johnson had nine points and eight assists.

In another Coliseum League game, Crenshaw routed Manual Arts, 91-26 to improve to 9-2 overall and 2-0 in league. The Toilers are 1-6, 0-2.

Locke (7-13, 2-1) outscored View Park Prep, 19-3 in the fourth quarter to record a 56-43 victory in the other Coliseum game.

Eric Comegys had 11 points, Tim Noel had 10 and Sean Rivers nine to lead the way for the Saints, who host Crenshaw Friday.

View Park is 8-11, 0-3.

Northern League
Senior guard Zeve Sanderson scored 30 points on 11-of-16 shooting from the field as Franklin raced past Wilson, 72-51 in a Northern League opener. Sanderson was 5-of-8 on 3-pointers.

Julio Duarte had 17 points and Anthony Quiroz 16 points and six rebounds for the Panthers, who are 7-9 overall. Wilson is 3-9.

Western League
Defending state Division I champion Westchester (13-2, 3-0) coasted to a 72-39 victory over Fairfax (9-6, 2-1) in a Western League game.

Kareem Jamar had 13 points and Jordin Mayes had 12 for the Comets, who built a 16-point lead by halftime. Reggie Murphy added 11.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Eastern League

Delaura Castaneda scored 27 points to lead five players in double figures as Jordan routed South Gate, 93-11 in an Eastern League girls basketball game Wednesday.

Evelyn Sanchez (21), Ashley Barry-Wallace (18), Dymond Murry (15) and Earnika Clemmons (14) also scored in double figures for the Bulldogs.

Jordan raced to a 30-7 lead after one quarter and was up 49-7 at halftime.

Coliseum League
Crenshaw (10-6, 1-1) defeated Manual Arts, 47-37 in a Coliseum League game. The Toilers are 5-5, 1-1.

View Park Prep (15-5, 3-0) jumped out to a 25-8 first quarter lead and defeated Locke, 68-23 in Coliseum League play.

Lucy Portillo paced Locke (4-7, 0-3) with nine points.

Marine League
Reshanda Gray scored 22 points to lead first-place Washington Prep (12-9, 3-0) to a 61-50 victory over Carson (10-6, 2-1) in a Marine League showdown.

The Generals jumped out to a 20-6 lead, then withstood a strong run by the Colts.

Annie Curry had 11 points and Chante Miles 10 for Carson.

Northern League
Wilson (3-5, 1-0) led 15-3 after one period enroute to a 52-47 win over Franklin in a Northern League opener.

Roxanne Cardona had 16 points and 10 rebounds and Rena Tomihara added 10 points for Franklin (7-10).

Ocean League
Hazel Ramirez, the Wave Newspapers reigning player of the year, had 15 points, five assists and five steals as Inglewood (14-3) topped Beverly Hills, 70-46 in an Ocean League opener. Keyla Morgan also had 15 points for the Sentinels.
