Top-seeded Price High School continued its easy run through the Southern Section Division 4AA boys basketball playoffs Tuesday at Morningside.

The Knights (27-3), who are winning by an average of nearly 40 points in three postseason games, routed host Morningside, 70-42 in the quarterfinals.

That puts them into a Friday semifinal against No. 4 Bishop Amat at West Covina High. Amat advanced with a 63-49 victory over Lawndale.

California-signee Allen Crabbe had 18 points, 10 rebounds and two assists to lead Price past the Monarchs (17-13).

Askia Booker added 13 points, while big men Richard Solomon and Skylar Spencer had nine each. The 6-9 Solomon, who has also signed with Cal, had seven rebounds. Spencer, a 6-7 sophomore, had eight boards.

The Knights were never really tested after extending a 17-10 first quarter lead to 41-24 by halftime. Their second-half advantage reached as high as 32 points.

“I’ve got to be pleased with the way we executed what we talked about,” Price coach Michael Lynch said. “To hold a team with that firepower down the way we did says a lot about our defense. We knew they (Monarchs) we’re going to try and push the pace, but we’re a fairly athletic team, too. I felt we could press them whether we were in a man or zone.”

About the only negative was the shaky free throw shooting (they were 18-for-31).

“We were 20-for-38 against Serra and lost by three and missed 14 free throws against Newark Memorial and lost by one,” he said. “It didn’t hurt us tonight, but in a close game it will.”

Brennan Jackson led Morningside with 14 points and D.J. Harris added nine.

Inglewood 52, Atascadero 39

Julius Bilbrew scored 17 points and Gerald Evans added 16 to lead Inglewood past Atascadero, 52-39 in another 4AA quarterfinal.

The Sentinels host second-seeded Orange Lutheran, a 79-52 winner over El Segundo, Friday in the semifinals. The game will be at a neutral site of Inglewood’s choosing.

Division IA
Leuzinger 76, Roosevelt 60

Amir Garrett had 22 points and Delon Wright added 14 as No. 3 Leuzinger (22-6) topped Roosevelt, 76-60 in the IA quarters. Aqeel Quinn added 12 points for the Olympians, who led, 33-24 at halftime.

Leuzinger hosts No. 2 Loyola (26-2) Friday in the semis. Loyola topped Mission Viejo, 68-43 Tuesday.

Division 2AA
Compton 62, Edison 52

Allan Guei scored 23 points and Dazjae Hill had 11, all in the first quarter, to lead Compton (17-12) past Edison, 62-52 in the 2AA quarters. Cliff Sims and Anthony January added 10 points each.

Compton faces Burbank at Dominguez Friday in the semis. Burbank advanced with a 59-59 win over Canyon of Canyon Country.

Division 3A
Serra 102, Golden Valley 63

Top-seeded Serra got 26 points from Keith Shamburger, 13 from Craig Carter and 12 from Vaughn Autry in a 102-63 victory over Golden Valley.

The Cavaliers play at Gahr Friday in the semis.

Centennial 57, La Canada 44
Deonta Burton had 20 points, 12 in the fourth quarter, to lead No. 3 Centennial past La Canada, 57-44. Kevin Smith added 18 points for the Apaches, who host No. 2 Harvard-Westlake Friday.
