Lisa Leslie will have her No. 9 jersey retired by the Sparks during a halftime ceremony of Tuesday’s game against Indiana at Staples Center.

The former Morningside High School and USC standout retired after last season. The three-time league MVP led the Sparks to WNBA championships in 2001 and 2002.

She will become the second player in Sparks history to have her jersey retired, joining Penny Toler, now the team’s general manager.

Leslie, 38, is a mother of two and does television commentary on the Sparks.

Sunday, the Sparks’ Tina Thompson, also a Morningside and USC product, surpassed Leslie as the WNBA’s career scoring leader.
