UCLA’s men’s soccer program has signed a nationally-regarded class, the athletic department announced.

Six of the 10 national letter of intent signees are rated by Top Drawer Soccer as Top 100 players to watch for 2010 - No. 1 Earl Edwards, No. 5 Kelyn Rowe, No. 13 Zack Foxhoven, No. 20 Joseph Sofia, No. 22 Patrick Matchett and No. 61 Victor Chavez.

“We are obviously very excited to sign this class," Bruin coach Jorge Salcedo said. “The potential of the group is exceptional, and it’s one of the top classes we have signed in the last several years. The athleticism, the technical ability, and, more importantly, the motivation to succeed is the best way to describe this crew. We look forward to incorporating them during this upcoming fall season.”

Kyle Bethel, a transfer, was the ACC freshman of the year at Duke in 2008. The Howell, N.J. native was a two-time all-state selection in high school.

Chavez, a forward from Fontana, was a member of the 2009 U.S. U-17 World Cup team and a member of the 2009 Macae Cup championship squad. He recently played with the U-20 National Team at the Chivas Tournament in Mexico.

Edwards, a goalkeeper, is UCLA’s second No. 1 national recruit in two years (Amobi Okugo in 2009). The San Diego native is a member of the U.S. Under-20 National Team, playing recently at the Chivas Tournament in Mexico.

Foxhoven is a forward from Littleton, Colo. who ranks No. 13 in Top Drawer Soccer’s Top 100 List. A member of the U.S. Youth National Team program since 2005, Foxhoven is currently in the pool for the U-20 and U-18 National Teams.

Reid Hukari, a 6-6 midfielder/defender from Wheat Ridge, Colo., was a two-time first-team all-state player.

Bradley McIntosh, a midfielder from Redmond, Wash., was captain of the Crossfire Premier U.S. Soccer Development Team from 2007-2010. He also captained Crossfire State championship teams from 2003-05 and 2007.

Rowe hails from Federal Way, Wash. and is a club teammate with McIntosh at Crossfire Premier.

Sofia is a defender from Dove Canyon who has been team captain for the Irvine Strikers since 2006.

Andrew Tusaazemajja is a forward from Panorama City who led Fulton College Prep to league titles in 2009 and 2010.

Reed Williams is Orange County’s leading scorer at Corona del Mar High.
