COLLISION COACHES
Inglewood High School’s Patrick Roy will coach the Southern Section team and Taft’s Derrick Taylor heads the City for the Collision XII All-Star Basketball Games April 24 at El Camino College.

Ayala’s Mel Sims and Narbonne’s Vicky Sanders will coach the girls game.

“This is a tremendous honor for me,” Roy said. “I missed it last year, but I am on deck for this year to go out this year on a winning note.”

“I was finally able to win one last year, so I want to come back and defend my crown so to speak,” Taylor said.

Sims has a record of 8-3 in this game.

“Hey, I guess I’ll keep doing it until somebody beats me,” he said. “I feel really good about the event and I want to keep dominating it.”

Sanders will be coaching the City team for the third time in four years.

“The gap is getting narrow,” she said. “I know the City does not have the number of schools to draw from as the Southern Section, but here are no excuses and I am going to fix that.”
