Despite breaking his left hand in the second round, East L.A.’s Chris Arreola pounded out a decisive victory over Manuel Quezada Friday in Ontario.

The heavyweight contender knocked Quezada down three times on the way to his 29th victory in 31 fights as a professional.

That he wasn’t able to record his 26th KO could be attributed to the broken left hand and damaged tendons on the right hand suffered during the fight.

Still, he came close to ending it in the ninth round. Quezada (29-6), though, survived to go the entire 12 rounds.
