The Los Angeles Lakers will open their season by playing host to the Houston Rockets at Staples Center Oct. 26 and face LeBron James and the Miami Heat on Christmas Day at Staples Center.

The Lakers will play the Oklahoma City Thunder on Martin Luther King Jr. Day Jan. 17 at Staples Center in a rematch of their first-round playoff series, won by the Lakers, four games to two.

The NBA on Tuesday released the national television network schedule for games on Opening Day, Christmas Day and Martin Luther King Day. The full NBA schedule will be released next Tuesday.

Laker individual-game tickets customarily go on sale in early October. Prices have not been determined and will be announced when the date of single- game dates is announced, John Black, the team's vice president of public relations told City News Service.

All but 1 percent or 2 percent of the Lakers' season tickets holders are expected to renew their tickets for the 2010-2011 season, Black said.
