Los Alamitos routs Fremont

Fremont High School was simply no challenge for undefeated Los Alamitos.

Scoring on every possession, the Griffins built a 48-0 lead by halftime and went on to a 55-0 intersectional football victory Thursday at Veterans Stadium in Long Beach. A running clock was used in the second half.

Nick Richardson (13 carries for 99 yards) ran for four touchdowns and Dylan Cook (6-of-8 for 116 yards) had scoring passes of 54 yards to Shaq Richardson and nine yards to Robert Watson.

Los Alamitos (2-0), which played only reserves on offense in the second half, had 241 yards of total offense in the first half. Fremont (0-3) had a minus-16 yards and no first downs in the opening half.

The Pathfinders didn’t get their initial first down until 10:27 remained. They finished with six first downs and 71 yards of total offense.

Fremont quarterback Ricky Carrigan, sacked five times in the first half, finished 9-of-15 for 61 yards. Tight end Frank Olmedo had three catches for 37 yards.

Tailback Lafont Toliver Jr. was held to 15 yards on 12 carries.

Fremont is at West Adams Prep next Friday.
