Freshman guard Angelica Laury scored points to lead St. Bernard High School to a 53-31 victory over Hillcrest Christian Thursday at Colony of Onatario in the Southern Section Division 6AA girls basketball championship game.

Laury also had eight rebounds and four steals for the Vikings (19-13), who will compete in Division V in the next week’s Southern Regional playoffs.

They had to overcome an early 10-2 deficit to catch and finally pass Hillcrest (17-9). The Vikings scored the first 17 points of the second half to turn the game into a rout.

Gabrielle Udoh added 13 points and 18 rebounds for St. Bernard, which has now won nine section titles.
