Daniel Moriel pitched a complete game and Leo De La Rosa had two hits and two RBIs to lead El Rancho High School to a 6-5 victory over Montebello Friday in the championship game of the 17th annual Montebello Oilers Baseball Tournament.

The Dons (4-0) built a four-run lead before having to hold off the Oilers at the end.

Moriel struck out four in posting the victory and got plenty of help from an offense that produced three runs each in the fourth and fifth innings.

El Rancho was down, 2-0 when it got off the deck in the fourth.

De La Rosa drove in the first run with a single and two more runs scored when Rich Rios was safe on an error.

In the fifth, Michael Espinoza hit a run-scoring single to make it 4-2. De La Rosa and Adrian Sanchez followed with back-to-back RBI doubles.

Robert Zamorano’s two-run double got Montebello (3-1) closer. But he was thrown out trying to stretch the hit into a triple.

Michael Maldonaldo singled in the final run for the Oilers.
