Playa del Rey was eliminated from the American Legion state tournament with losses to Long Beach Wilson and San Bernardino Monday in Yountville.

Wilson, unbeaten during the tourney, and San Bernardino play for the title Tuesday. Both teams advance to the West Regionals from Aug. 5-9 at UNLV.

Behind the solid complete-game effort of pitcher Chase DeJong, Wilson defeated Playa del Rey, 6-3.

Playa del Rey’s roster was made up largely of players from Westchester High School, including Robert Gsellman, Jamaal Moore, Kenny Peoples-Walls and Josh Gilder.

Evan Santa Cruz was among Crenshaw’s representatives.

Hamilton pitcher Steven Gallardo and shortstop Cody Watanabe were also part of the team.
