Bethany Lutheran School students recently raised enough funds to "put the Principal on the roof for a day". During the Spring fundraiser, the Principal challenged students that if they raised $10,000 she would put her office on the roof for a day. The students accepted the challenge and went beyond, and Dr. Mary Fink, making good on her promise spent Friday, June 11 on the rooftop of the school. Fink was outfitted with electical power and supplied with food for her odyssey, but relied on a string tied to a can to receive and send notes to the students below on the playground. Bethany Lutheran School is a fully accredited Kindergarten through 8th grade school in Long Beach. The school also has a pre-school and day care center providing care for children ages 2 and up. The school prides itself on small class sizes, outstanding academics, credentialed teachers, having music, art, computers and PE as part of the regular curriculum. For additional information about the school and to schedule a tour, please contact Kathy Tucker, 562 / 420-7783 ext. 54, ktucker@bethanylutheran.org
